Company Drivers (Truck, Tipper & General) Needed

Position: Company Driver (Truck Driver / Tipper Driver / Company Driver)

Reports To: Transport Manager / Operations Manager

1. Role Summary 

The Company Driver is responsible for safely transporting goods, materials, and company property to designated locations. The role ensures timely deliveries, proper vehicle maintenance, and strict adherence to road safety laws and company guidelines.
Drivers may be assigned to trucks, tippers, vans, pickups, or other company vehicles depending on operational needs.


2. Key Responsibilities 

A. Driving & Delivery Duties

  • Operate company vehicles (trucks, tippers, pickups, vans, etc.) safely and professionally.

  • Transport goods, raw materials, equipment, and other items to project sites or customer locations.

  • Ensure timely loading and offloading of materials.

  • Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, delivery notes, and fuel usage.

  • Follow designated routes and meet delivery schedules.

  • Adhere to Ghana Highway Code and all safety regulations.

B. Vehicle Maintenance & Safety

  • Conduct daily vehicle checks (oil, water, tyres, brakes, lights, battery, etc.).

  • Ensure the vehicle is always clean and in good operating condition.

  • Report mechanical problems immediately to the Transport Manager.

  • Ensure regular servicing, repairs, and maintenance are scheduled on time.

  • Maintain proper documentation (insurance, roadworthy certificate, servicing stickers, etc.).

C. Operational and Administrative Duties

  • Complete delivery paperwork, logs, and trip sheets accurately.

  • Assist with securing loads and ensuring correct weight limits, especially for tipper trucks.

  • Operate tipper mechanisms safely when transporting sand, gravel, stones, or construction materials.

  • Follow company policies on fuel management, route planning, and material handling.

  • Support warehouse, site, or logistics team with loading/offloading when required.


3. Qualifications & Experience 

  • Valid Ghana Driver’s License (Class C, D, F, E depending on vehicle type).

  • Minimum 3–5 years proven driving experience for Truck & Tipper Drivers.

  • Experience driving long-distance routes (for truck drivers).

  • Knowledge of road safety regulations and Ghana Highway Code.

  • Ability to operate heavy-duty vehicles, tippers, or articulated trucks (if applicable).

  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

6. Safety Compliance & Responsibilities 

  • Obey all safety rules, traffic laws, and company protocols.

  • Wear mandatory PPE when on sites (boots, reflective vest, helmet, etc.).

  • Follow procedures for loading, tipping, reversing, and parking.

  • Secure loads properly to prevent accidents or cargo damage.

  • Report all incidents, accidents, or near-misses immediately.

9. Special Notes for Specific Roles 

A. Truck Drivers

  • Long-distance hauling (regional or cross-border).

  • Handling heavy loads and long hours of travel.

  • Use of GPS, route management, and rest-time regulations.

B. Tipper Drivers

  • Safe operation of tipper mechanism.

  • Transporting sand, stones, aggregates, and construction materials.

  • Awareness of site safety rules, quarry operations, and tipping zones.

C. Pick-up / Company Drivers

  • Staff transportation, errands, official trips.

  • Light material movement and administrative support.

  • Clean interior/exterior and prompt reporting.
